This is a beautifully elegant Riesling that will age gracefully over the next few years. A very fine bouquet of limes, floral notes and mineral. The palate displays attractive citrus sweetness, a delicate soft texture and racy acidity. The wine shows stunning poise and grace. It is exquisite and so delicious. 7 g/l of residual sugar. At its best: now to 2012. (2006)

A blast of soil character introduces the wine, then quiets to scents of sour cherries and Asian pear. The fruit is as fresh as rain, lasting on a cool, bright spice that's evocative of Martinborough. This is a lovely riesling, delicious with Thai squid salad or other spcy seafood dishes. (2005) |

4.5 stars - 91 points, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2009 |
It's intensely aromatic on the nose displaying lemon, lime and floral characters with a touch of mineral notes. The palate is juicy and lively with crisp apple acidity and fine, delicate texture. A superbly structured wine with the classic Riesling acidity and a touch of sweetness (7.3 g/l). At its best: now to 2013. 11% Screwcap. (2008) |

Fresh lime, green apple, mineral and rose petal flavours offer interest in this dry-ish, soft-textured wine. (2002) |

Peters Picks, Food & Beverage, Sept 2005 |
A quite delightful wine showing fine lime characters, minerals and sherbet tones. Just 6 grams of sugar per litre so essentially dry, and tasting ripe, well-spined and delicious with food. Great over summer, into 2008. (2004) |

Excellent dry Riesling awash in peaches, pineapple and pear, balanced by high acidity and minerals.(2004) |

Another new import this year. A liquid bouquet as the nose greets you with a very nice floral burst followed by citrus notes. Reminiscent of a German Kabinett, the body has a mineral component balancing the citrus and apple fruit notes. Just a bit off-dry on the finish. (2004) |

4 stars - John Saker et al., Capital Times, 3rd Nov 2004 |
Old world quality to the zingy, wet straw and armpit aromas, Green apple, rhubarb and fresh citrus dominated the palate. The acidity was up and racing. Dry and long on the finish. (2004) |

Gourmet Traveller Wine, Winter 2005 |
One of the smaller Martinborough operations, Voss has a reputation for combining quality with value. It was the toss of a coin as to whether this spot went to its riesling or its pinot, which is terrific but one of many in the region. On the other hand - there are few rieslings challenging this finely balanced, zippy offering, perfumed with bath salt and citrus. (2004) |

4.5 stars, Michael Cooper’s Buyer’s Guide to Wines 2002 & Winestate, Mar/Apr 2001 |
The impressive 2000 vintage of this Martinborough wine is a slightly sweet style, made from slightly Botrytis- affected grapes. Scented, with lively lemon, apple and lime flavours showing excellent depth, it’s a floral, fresh, finely focused wine, worth cellaring. |

This round, mouthfilling Riesling is on the fullish side, but still retains a sense of focus thanks to steely-minerally notes that balance the softer honey and lime flavours. (2004) |

4.5 “glasses”, The Penguin Good NZ Wine Guide 2001/2002 (Vic Williams) |
There’s not a lot of Gary Voss and Annette Atkins’ classy riesling about, but it’s worth a search. Gary reports that a small percentage of the fruit was infected by the so-called ‘noble-rot’ botrytis. For riesling, that’s ok.
Current release 2000. Dried lemon peel and a touch of the florals set the scene. It’s quite a complex wine, with rich flavours edged by zingy, faintly apple-like acids. The finish is long and refreshing. It’s good on its own but should also suit a terrine based on duck livers and pears. |

A change in style from the soft, round version produced in 2004, this is a light, fresh, virtually dry (7 g/L residual sugar) Riesling. Strident citrus notes on the nose mingle with hints of mineral, while the palate delivers crisp green apple and citrus flavors. (2005) |

John Saker, Capital Times (NZ), 10th Sep 2003 |
The 2003 Voss Estate Riesling is a revelation. It has an attractive Moselle-like linear intensity and steely, limey flavours. Is is dry, taut and very lengthy with no extraneous baggage. It’s the first time the winery has used grapes from a parcel in Te Muna which is why it represents such a departure from previous Voss Rieslings. |

The 2002 Voss Estate Riesling is still available, and drinking very well. Feted by Cuisine magazine last year, it is sweeter, has a stronger floral character and is much broader on the palate than the ’03. |

3.5 stars, Michael Coopers Buyers Guide to New Zealand Wines 2008 |
This Martinborough wine is usually very attractive, with lifted, limey aromas and a tight, slightly minerally palate, balancing a sliver of sweetness with lively acidity. (The 2006 vintage, made with a small percentage of botrytised fruit, has 7 grams per litre of resudual sugar.) |

Scored very highly in a blind tasting of New World Rieslings by the buying team. Delicate citrus and tropical scents and flavours. Reasonably dry. (2003) |
